An 11th hour excursion to the Walt Disney Concert Hall to set the precedent for 2026. My all time favorite band… my 10th The Roots show… at the venue with the best acoustics in the city. They tore it down and remodeled the spot after the clinic they put on. A standard in live excellence. Class was in session.

Full circle too. The last time ELIMN8 and I saw The Roots live, it’s was New Year Years Day 2015 at The Observatory in Santa Ana. Now 10 years later, New Year’s Eve 2025, starting the new year again with “The Legendary, Hard Working, Revolutionary, Sure Shot from Philadelphia, PA.”

Last connect the dots moment. The shirt I was wearing at the show, I bought when we first saw The Roots together, Grammy Weekend 2007 at The Gibson Amphitheater, freshman year at The Mount. That shirt is older than some of y’all kids. “HFP20.” A return to the foundation for elevation. No better place than to start here.
