6201 'Princess Elizabeth' charges over the Welsh Marches - The Cathedrals Express - 10/09/16

Another outing for the freshly overhauled Stanier Pacific no.6201 'Princess Elizabeth'. This time, she would be taking charge of a 'Cathedrals Express' from London to Shrewsbury and back to Slough, working the sections from Bristol Temple Meads and back as far as Bristol Parkway. Well into her journey along the Welsh Marches route, we first see Lizzie in between the rain showers, attacking the lower slopes of Llanvihangel Bank, at Llantilio Pertholey, providing yet another awesome soundtrack, one which has been sorely missed on the main line. Our second and final shot catches her on the return run at Moreton-on-Lugg, running at full chat, trying to make up lost time after leaving the loop at Craven Arms 24 minutes down. Another terrific performance, in the last remaining rays of the late Summer sun.
