We are on the final video of how to mix and master a song inside your home studio. Part 27 I cover getting your track up to a commercial level of volume without squashing your mix.

You want to be loud, but you don't want to kill your mix. I'll show you how I typically go about this using Slate Digital's FGX Mastering plugin.

I also add just a slight bit of compression to tighten up the mix a little more. about a 1/2 db of gain reduction sounded good to me.
