Warnings have been issued in western Victoria as an out-of-control bushfire spreads.

A watch and act alert has been issued for Chapple Vale, Crowes, Gellibrand Lower, Johanna, Johanna Heights, Lavers Hill, Stalker, Wangerrip, Wattle Hill and Yuulong.

People in those areas are being warned to leave now as conditions may worsen. 

The bushfire is travelling from Chapple Vale towards the Great Ocean Road in a south-to-southwest direction.
