In this Workshop Episode of Audio Builder TV we will look back to March of 2016 workshop, “Mic Pres A to Z.” In this amazing talk Eric Gaskells explains how the technical difference between mic preamplifiers create their sonic characteristics. Eric was involved with the design of the AEA R84 ribbon mic and published an AES paper on the psycho-acoustics of op-amp distortion. He is an audio engineer and educator at Mcgill University. Audio Builders TV is produced by the students of Concord Carlisle High School with help from Colonial Sound and CCTV.
