"Beyond Everything" (Demon) by AddBadx | Geometry Dash 2.11

Several people have told me to try this out, both on Discord and in YouTube comments, so I figured I should. It's been a little while since I've been able to play Geometry Dash myself, as I've been away from my computer, and I have to say that this is a great level to come back to. The first thing you may notice watching this is the length of the video, which means that the level itself is nearly 5 minutes long. It's not often I upload levels this long to the channel. They usually struggle to keep the quality consistently high enough for a showcase in my opinion, and they're already rare to begin with compared to other durations. With this, AddBadx definitely managed to keep up the quality. I will say that I enjoyed the last parts a bit more than the first, but they're still all good, and I think it's charming to see a creator improve throughout a level.

As expected due to the length, the level features a large amount of different parts. These often have completely different designs, colors, decorations, backgrounds, and so on. The variety of visuals seen throughout this is impressive. Still, the level feels cohesive thanks to AddBadx's style and good transitions from part to part. Another thing worth noting about the visuals is the aspect ratio. For the majority of parts, it's closer to 4:3 with black bars on the sides, making your view very limited. At the climaxes of the song, seen at 0:43 and 4:02, the black bars disappear to make the aspect ratio 16:9. This may not have as big of an effect when watching, but it's very noticeable when playing. Going from very limited 4:3 to 16:9 to the song's climax makes it feel like you can suddenly see everything. This is obviously inspired by levels like "WELL RESTED" which did it before, but I'm happy to see more levels using it due to how effective it is, especially long ones. Having seen it in a couple shorter levels too, it's not nearly as hype. It works really well in this level due to the long downtime in between the drops.

Luckily, the gameplay also lives up to the visual quality. The synchronization is just as good, making it flow very nicely when playing. Some parts have a bit more confusing gameplay due to the mix of structures and decoration, but arrows guide you nicely when this happens. As a result, the difficulty of each part isn't particularly high. It's the length that makes this worthy of a Demon rating. I'd say it'll probably be a Medium Demon, and with the quality in mind, it definitely deserves an Epic rating in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing more works by AddBadx!
