Summary:
FINALLY ANOTHER BIG YELLOW FIN TUNA!!! I had the honor of taking a guest from Cali out for a guided kayak fishing trip and this special catch happened! It was such a blast to show our Hawaii waters to a visiting kayak angler and I was thrilled to get him a little sampling of what it is like to get on some pelagics here in Hawaii!

Owner 4/0 & 5/0 circle hooks, Gamakatsu 6/0 & 5/0 live bait hooks (honestly, I found some cheaper Korean versions at J.Hara for 11cents a hook), Diablo or VMC 2/0 inline hooks for stinger when using wire (hifishgear.com BKK Lone Diablo Inline Hook — HiFishGear).
Damashi: Homemade using line between 12-16lb, typically J-Flouro Samurai. I typically tie my own flies. When using lures, I like Tylah lures or CHL Nox Minnows, both I set up with gold hooks and a red bead which I find to be very effective and highly recommend them.
