5 simple steps to creating an effective translator cover letter

Описание к видео 5 simple steps to creating an effective translator cover letter

Your translator cover letter to an agency should be kept dead simple.
That’s because your aim should simply be to get them to read your CV.
Which means your cover letter should be short, generate interest, and deliberately leave out key information the agency will want.
This video tells you how to do precisely that.
Of the 5 key areas you need to get right, the body of your cover letter is the trickiest. We recommend splitting this into three parts – your personalisation, your offer, and a close. Our sample wording provides a practical example of how to do this to best effect.
Also requiring some thought is your subject line, where you not only want to be clear what your e-mail is about - that you’re a freelance translator offering your services, but also stimulate interest so the agency will be encouraged to read your CV. Again, our example wording shows how you can do this.
Adopt these simple guidelines and we’re sure your cover letter will do the trick, and the agencies will be quick to scrutinise your full translator CV.
