Описание к видео Inside TERRY FOX's Van

Uncertain future for Canada's most beloved vehicle. It accompanied Terry during his tragic 1980 Marathon of Hope. But it doesn't have a home and it needs your help. https://terryfoxcentre.ca/

The Terry Fox Centre will be “a place for all things Terry”— featuring artifacts from Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope to tell his story and to share his dream of raising money for cancer research. The Centre will further the work of the Terry Fox Foundation, reflect the innovations in cancer research made through the Terry Fox Research Institute and inspire visitors to carry Terry’s dream forward. The Centre will be a place where people will experience Terry’s values of courage, determination and humility. Visitors to the Centre will have a transformative experience – they will be entertained, informed and inspired.

Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. After losing his leg to cancer at only 18 years of age, Terry set out to do the impossible: run across Canada, one marathon a day, in pursuit of his dream to find a cure for cancer. When Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at 18, the experience ignited in him a fierce determination to bring an end to the suffering cancer causes. His personal experience and research led him to the conclusion that more money was needed for cancer research. And so, on April 12, 1980, Terry dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic Ocean and proceeded to change the world.
