Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics Over 80" LED Trailer Light Kit. This light kit is ideal for marine trailer applications. It's going to come with two red rectangular LED trailer lights. The passenger side light, or the right hand side light, is going to serve seven functions: such as your stop, turn, tail, rear clearance, rear reflex, side marker, and side reflex functions. The driver's side light's going to contain all the same as the passenger side light, plus your license plate illuminator or license plate light. The lights feature a sealed, waterproof construction that is submersible. They're going to feature replaceable lenses.

The LED system is encapsulated inside the unit. If you we're to take off the lens, what you would see is you would see is a nice, clear plastic; kind of like a bubble that goes over all the LED lights in the board and all that stuff, to keep it completely sealed. It's got that nice, sealed design, waterproof, can be submersed. If you end up cracking or breaking the lens, the lenses can be replaced. They're just held on there with four screws. The lenses are made from an acrylic construction.

The housings of the unit are made from plastic. It's a nice strong durable design that's corrosion resistant. It's a full LED system. LEDs are going to make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer.

They burn brighter. They're much more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs. You don't have to worry about brittle filaments. The lights are going to contain a three-wire design. You're going to have your white wire for your ground wire; your brown wire is going to be for your running lights; for your passenger side light, you're going to have a green wire.

That's for the stop and turn lights. On the driver's side, you're going to have a yellow wire. That's going to be for the stop and turn lights. The lights are SAE and Department of Transportation Department compliant. They meet FMVSS and CNVSS requirements for automotive lighting. They are PT-rated as well as PC-rated lights. A few dimensions I want to go over with you real quick. We're just going to take a look at one of the lights, since they're both going to measure the same. The widest point is actually here at the front. They're a little bit more narrow at the back. At the front, the length is going to measure 8 1/16th of an inch long. Take a measurement of the height, so from top to bottom; that's going to give us a measurement of 2 7/8 of an inch. The depth, back to front; we're looking at 2 13/16 of an inch deep. The mounting slots on the lights, these are going to be separated on 2-inch centers. You're going to have three slots. Center on center is 2-inches. Center on center is 2-inches. Center on center is going to be 4-inches; again, three wire design. Your mounting hardware is included so it's going to come with your bolts. It's going to come with your nuts with serrated washers attached to them. With the kit, you're also going to get your wiring nuts, as well. When it comes to the number of LEDs that each light contains, this one is for the driver's side. This is going to contain 22 LEDs, so we're going to have 12 right here in the main body, 3 right here for the rear clearance, and then 3 for the side marker. On this corner, there's going to be 6; 3 on the front, 3 on the side. Then, on the bottom for the license plate light, we're going to have an additional 4; 2 diodes located on each side. For the passenger side light, we're looking at a total of 18 LEDs; 12 on the main body, and then again, 6 going around here on the corner; 3 on the front and 3 on the side. I do want to go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. I'm just going to hook up the driver's side light. Again, the white wire's going to have a ring terminal already attached to it; that's going to be our ground wire. The yellow wire is going to be for our stop and turn signal. Then, brown wire is for our taillights. It sends out a really nice, clear consistent signal. Again, you can see all the LEDs right here. I'm going to bring it in a little bit closer so we can get a better look at it. We're going to have that main body. Then on the sides, you can see there's no lights on this side. Again, this is for the driver side. On the outer edge we're going to have three right here on the front, three right here on the side, reflectors are built-in to the lenses.
