A lot of people have been in the market for new Shimano spinning reels and always have the same question when I talk to them. Which reel should I choose if I am looking in the $240 and under market. I would like to first say that I own both and they are both phenomenal reels for the price point.

I have always been a big fan of the CI4+ reels and this is no different. I like the Vanford over the Stradic FL due to the CI4+ composite body material and the MGL Rotor. I think it makes in a no brainer to pony up the extra $20 for the Vanford. That's just my opinion and you don't have to take my word for it, get out there and lean on 'em with both reels and see which one fits your style best!
