Throughout History there have been many defining moments that have enabled our species to advance to new heights. In this video we will be looking at arguably the greatest Modern Medicine achievement, and that is the eradication of the deadly Smallpox Disease through the use of vaccination and herd immunity. We will be delving the history of Smallpox and then illustrate the ground breaking research of Dr. Edward Jenner. The topics of immunology and herd immunity are briefly touched upon in this video with an explanation from Dr. Khizar Karim M.D who is an alumni of the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Program.
