Tears of GUAN YIN | Green Tara & White Tara : Avalokiteśvara's tears | Tara Story | Master Miao Jing

Green Tara & White Tara are the tears of Avalokiteśvara Guan Yin. Green Tara and White Tara are the manifestation of Avalokiteśvara and protect us when we face obstacles and challenges. In Tibetan Buddhism, it is said that Avalokitesvara Guan Yin Bodhisattva viewed the Six Realms’ beings with her compassionate and sad eyes, Avalokitesvara Guan Yin found that the Samsara is suffering infinitely in the reincarnation web of greed, aversion, and ignorance. For awhile, sadness shed two rows of teardrops. From the tears streaming down his face two Taras manifested, a peaceful White Tara from the left and a fierce Green Tara from the right. So the Taras said to Guan Yin Bodhisattva: "Don't be sad, let us help you to relieve all living beings’s sufferings." Since then, Green Tara and White Tara have become the manifestation of Avalokitesvara's great compassion. Guan Yin Bodhisattva responds and says: "I will appear in various forms and various mantras. By presenting various forms and mantras, I endow all beings with fearlessness." The 33 manifestations of Guan Yin are the most well known, and her blessings and merits are immeasurable. If we can call her name and think of her, her blessings always exist.
