These are loaded so that they are ‘self-cocking’ as they are. Still, for each float, some or all of the thin brass discs can be removed to enable the angler to adjust the floats, use a heavier bait, or have even more float tip showing. Their weight is nominally 5.0g, 6.0g, 7.0g and 8.0g.

The 5.0g float has one extra disc, 6.0g has two, 7.0g has three and 8.0g has four. Simply unscrew the bottom of the brass weight with its swivel, then remove the disc or discs you want and re-screw the base back.

These can be trapped on the line in traditional Waggler style with rubber float stops on either side of the built-in swivel eye or fixed via an adaptor. Many anglers use a simple Snaplink attachment trapped between float stops or similar.

This is better as it allows you to change the size, weight or colour of a float in seconds, and if you take made-up rods, take off the float when packing the rod away.

The clear discs supplied FOC as an option can help to stop the floats from diving too deeply upon hitting the water, although ‘feathering’ the cast helps a lot. These are thin, flexible PVC and not thick, rigid foam or plastic.

These fly very well, and as is normal, the bigger, longer versions extremely well.
There are two tip colours available: dark orange and yellow. Changing either to black (which, strangely, although VERY useful, is by far the least popular colour) is the simplest thing to do.
