April 29 is world wish day. This is an annual event honoring the anniversary of the wish that inspired the founding of the Make-A-Wish foundation. Kevin's son Jason's wish was an amazing experience and this channel was created in the honor of his wish to be a YouTube star. Jason's birthday was April 23, he would have turned 13 this year. To help other children facing a critical illness also get their wish granted, we have created a fundraising site to help support the middle Tennessee chapter of Make-A-Wish. We have a goal of raising $500 and between April 23 and April 29 we will match any donation up to that $500 target!!

Today we review a four grain bourbon that markets itself as a diet friendly drink - Penelope. Marketed as an under 100 calorie pour, this is a relatively new brand out of Basking Ridge, NJ. Penelope’s mashbill is sourced by MGP and is built on a “four grain” recipe, which is broken into 3 mash bills of: wheat mash and rye mash, aged separately from the corn and barley mash, and ultimately blended.

At only 80 proof, the lack of age (2-3 years) shows up as on the nose with ethanol and grain heavy. The palate is very light and not overly complex, but it has a strong sweet corn note with touches of rye herbs and mint. The finish stays sweet and does hang around for a bit but doesn't change much from the palate. Everything just comes across very muted but could be used as a decent intro whiskey. A solid buy but we would recommend something with a bit more proof...Cheers!!
