The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is boasting of only 12 serious crimes throughout the country on the Carnival days, with only four reported in the Port of Spain Division - where most of the activities took place.

Inspector Randall Mc Guirk says this was due to an increase in mobile and foot patrols, as well as speed traps and breathalyser tests.

The use of drones was also effective during the Carnival.

Inspector Mc Guirk said for the period January 1st to March 12th this year, there were 236 firearm seizures. This represents a 36% drop over the same period last year.
