I worked in the area of forced-placed insurance, sometimes it’s called lender-placed insurance. The operative issues that most often arise in this area include the following questions or issues: One is pricing; is the pricing fair? Second is commissions with respect to the coverage and, of course, the scope of coverage and also the question of the timing, that is to say, when did the coverage begin from a forced-place standpoint, and when did it end.

Among other things, expertise as to forced placed insurance (sometimes, “lender placed insurance”) relies on knowledge of (i) forced placed insurance and those that sell or “place” the coverage, generally lending institutions, (ii) the regulation of these matters and (iii) homeowners insurance (simply because it is the most common line of insurance that forced placed insurance applies to, though other forms of property insurance can be involved, such as commercial property coverage).
