A BJP speaker highlighted this by recounting a press conference moment: "Vah hasrat bhari nigahon se dekh rahe the Rahul ji ki taraf magar Rahul ji ne nahin bola. Aur unka muh laatak kar reh gaya." (He was looking at Rahul ji with hopeful eyes, but Rahul ji didn't say anything. And his face fell.). The BJP is leveraging this apparent disunity, framing the political contest as 'Nitish Kumar versus who?' and also pointing to internal family matters concerning Lalu Prasad Yadav.
