November 22, 2003 – It was supposed to be a routine “mail drop” for the DHL cargo plane. A war is going on, but they are just there to carry the soldiers’ letters from home. The three-man flight crew took off from Baghdad’s Saddam Hussein Airport without a hitch. Shortly after take-off, an anti-aircraft missile fired on the ground hit the Airbus A300.
