The Day of Knowledge in Russia is a holiday in honor of the beginning of the academic year. It is traditionally held on September 1 in all schools of the country. Girls wear snow-white aprons, tie big white bows in their hair, wear white tights or knee socks. Boys dress suit. Children give their teachers bouquets of autumn flowers - dahlias, asters, gladioluses. The holiday begins with the anthem of Russia. Then children perform dances, songs, verses. A school principal congratulates pupils, teachers and parents on the beginning of the school year. Then the students go to school under the guidance of their class teacher. The first lesson is always open - it can be attended by parents and guests of the school. The teacher announces plans for the school year, decides organizational problems with his parents. The lesson ends with a pupil's photo session with the teacher, class and parents.
