Ever since 3I/Atlas was detected cutting through our solar system, a familiar pattern has returned. Social media threads exploded. Comment sections filled with speculation. That idea is dramatic, seductive, and wrong far more often than it is right. What would it really take to prove that 3I/Atlas is alien technology, rather than a strange but natural interstellar object?
