WiTWA was awarded an Australian Government grant in early 2022 to improve STEM Gender Equity outcomes for young adults. This funding allowed WiTWA to provide an additional 12 months of Techtrails incursions to high school students in both metro and regional Western Australia.
As a part of this effort, the WiTWA team delivered two STEM industry collaboration workshops, two research reports, and seven Techtrails incursions.
The workshop had 36 STEM industry leaders in attendance and highlighted the following points: non-linear pathways were prominent, there is a need for a single source for STEM initiatives, and the influence of digital media is growing.

Over 1,200 students were positively impacted as we hosted Techtrails incursions at seven schools located in both metropolitan and regional Western Australia.

We had 90 Role Models and Speakers, all of whom are STEM industry leaders, join us on the Techtrails Incursions. During the incursions, these role models shared their personal experiences and career journeys within STEM to help encourage students to explore their interested and pursue their passions.

This initiative is made possible through the funding and ongoing support by the Australian Government , Department of Industry, Science and Resources and the National Careers Institute.
