Today, I want to talk about the growing problem of antibiotic resistance. We often see that for a simple sore throat or minor issue, people start taking antibiotics as casually as painkillers. It is important to understand that antibiotics are not ordinary medicines, they are life-saving drugs. Misusing them, taking them without indication, without a doctor’s prescription, or stopping midway when feeling slightly better, makes bacteria stronger. These bacteria then stop responding to regular doses or mild antibiotics, a phenomenon known as antibiotic resistance. I urge all citizens not to treat antibiotics as regular medicine. Use them only under a doctor or specialist’s guidance. Misusing these life-saving drugs puts everyone at risk. Prime Minister
