Science behind Navarna Mantra

Описание к видео Science behind Navarna Mantra

In this discourse, Om Swami talks about the science behind the Navarna Mantra by explaining the right pronunciation of the seed syllables and the bindu (anusvara) together.

There is a dot on many seed syllables. That dot is often pronounced as "Mh" or "Ang" both of which are wrong. If you look at the word "Ma", you don't say "Mang" or say "Mham" - you say just Ma. In the original Sanskrit script which used to be called the Brahmi script, there was the presence of two extra nasal sounds. One was called Chandrabindu ( drawn like a saucer and dot in the middle ), and another sound called "Gwang" ( drawn like a cup with two handles and a dot in the middle). Gradually, the "Gwang" sound got taken away and all sounds were represented by the Chandrabindu or the Bindu. Overtime the Devanagari script which is an adoption of the Brahmi script came into the picture. In the Devanagari script, two letters got added, one was "Gya" and the other was "Ksha". This is why in the south even till date, because these letters are not incorporated into the script and they pronounce it the way it is transliterated.

"Whatever movements Indian gurus started in the last 150 years, regardless of whatever name they gave to their methods, were either a direct derivative of one of these streams or a mix of many. And then you, have mantra yoga which has also been the focus of many traditional masters well versed in the Vedas. Many traditions taught its followers the complete science around one mantra. Some of the new age ones define mantra yoga as the art of meditating on a sound. Mantra yoga, however, is way more than that. It’s an astoundingly deep science with its own framework." https://os.me/ancient-science-mantras/
