Hi there! Today I’m sharing how I became a full-time, remote proofreader & copyeditor. Below is my timeline for reference and the resources I mentioned in the video. Comment if you have any questions!

2009 - Graduated from CSULB with an English degree
2010 - Got my first office job at an online advertising network doing quality assurance/compliance
2016 - Started taking proofreader/copyeditor classes
2017 - Applied for jobs at Hire My Mom, got hired by multiple people, started trying to grow my freelance proofreading business and landed a lot of clients on the side
2019 - Got my first full-time proofreading job at Anthem, went to Cardinal Health after my contract with Anthem ended.
2020 - Hired at Anthem full time.
2022 - Started my own freelance proofreading business
2023-2025 - Quit freelance, started working at Nordstrom as a copyeditor
