How Much It Cost To Move To Japan (Flight Tickets, Initial Apartment Fees...)

My ALT dispatch company told us that we would need $5000 in our bank account before moving to Japan so that we would have enough money for the initial apartment fees, food, transport etc. Thousands of dollars did end up disappearing from my bank within the first 2 months of my stay and I'm sad to say that my bank balance still hasn't recovered 🥲

Here are the biggest costs moving to Japan:

Food & Transportation $1000 (considering I had to take the bullet train to my placement location + transportation for Mar-Apr and food for Mar-Apr)
And then you add many more additional expenses (household appliances and necessities, utility bills etc.) and bam, your money is gone before you even receive your first pay check 💸
