More than 90% of South African retirees are unable to maintain their standard of living prior to retirement, and more than two-thirds have less than R 50 000 in their retirement funds!

On top of this, less than 50% of economically active South Africans have some form of retirement plan, with only 6% being confident that they understand their retirement strategy.

These are shocking statistics! So in today's video, I am going to explore why it is that so few people in this country can actually afford to retire, and as I show you how much you would really need in retirement, I will explain two very important principles of personal finance that EVERYONE should understand: inflation and compound interest.
