NEW Merit Shade Slick Gelée Sheer Tinted Lip Oil 💄

I was so excited when I saw Merit was launching a lip gelée, I had to pick one up.

I never liked their original shade slick lip oil because it felt too thin, runny, and slippery for me, but I really enjoy this formula. It’s a beautiful, lightweight gel texture with a bit of an oiliness to it that leaves my lips feeling soft and plump.

I got the shade Mapleton, which is described as a sheer brown. Sadly, there’s no brown going on here. Merit included “blooming pigments” that adjust to your natural ph. I’m confused by this decision because I’ve only ever seen ph adjusting pigments turn pink, and that’s what happened here.

Take a look at the applicator- it’s a bright purple from those blooming pigments. Certainly not the sheer brown ad advertised and I feel like this is misleading.

But if you love a sheer flush of pink with a bit of a stain, then I do recommend this formula! But if you want that sheer brown, I’d skip these.
