The Dalit Intellectual Collective has voiced its deep concern over the escalating violence against Dalits in Tamil Nadu, expressing disappointment with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government's lukewarm response to the surge in caste atrocities. In a public statement issued on November 4, the Collective emphatically called upon the state to take immediate and assertive measures to safeguard the rights and safety of Dalits in the region, who are facing increasingly brutal acts of violence. Additionally, the Collective emphasized that these atrocities lay bare the stark reality behind the widely touted concept of social justice in Tamil Nadu.
