Hello all!

I haven’t done a “Tips and Tricks” video in a while, so here’s one now! It’s been requested quite a bit for me to cover several topics, so this one is about eyes.

Now let me just say this, this is NOT a tutorial on how to draw eyes one way. This video is to give information to you guys to aid you in creating your own eyes! There are 7 tips inside the video I included that gives you the basics on what to incorporate in an eye, different eye shapes and tips on how to start creating your own unique eye style.

I personally believe that you should not just copy someone else’s style. Instead, take elements you like from different styles. Maybe you like how one artist draws the hair and how this one draws hands. Maybe the anatomy is something you like in one artist’s style but the eyes from another. In a way, you’re Frankenstein-ing the styles to create something that is unique to your interests and therefore is your own style.

Using realism and using reference photos helps in creating a unique style because you’re not copying a drawing, you’re drawing from a real photo.

Overall, I hope this helped you guys learn how to start creating your own eye styles rather than learning how I draw my eyes.
