I’m back with a tv show recap and deep dive into another interesting topic. I stumbled on a Netflix show called Girl from Nowhere that has a very interesting concept. The main protagonist Nanno attends a high school that ranks its students in order of how attractive they are. The ones in the top 10 ranks get special privileges like being able to enter a special mansion, getting to eat delicious food, and butlers to cater to their every need – definitely Pretty Privilege at play here! In this day and age peoples lives are always going to be influenced by their appearance – whether we like it or not. I’m sure it’s always been like this but with the rise of TikTok, content houses, cosmetic procedures, and social media celebrities – we’re becoming more beauty obsessed every day.
