Let’s play Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition, a retro space strategy RPG with base building, deep tactical combat, crew management and emergent storytelling developed by Canadian indie studio Massive Damage Inc.! We are playing with the brand new Lightspeed Edition Update, which is free for all original owners of Halcyon 6 and brings tons of new features to the already very good Halcyon 6. New features include streamlined systems and a streamlined campaign, a new officer progression system, customizable ship loadouts, a new difficulty mode (Vice Admiral) and enhanced Combat. The UI has also been overhauled, creating a more comfortable user experience.
The game puts us in the shoes of the commander of the Halcyon 6, an ancient star base containing hidden powers and mysteries. After the Federation gets almost destroyed by an alien invader race called the “Chruul”, it falls to us to fight back and rebuild the Federation!
