Most British Army knives have a marlin spike, but this isn’t always the case. This 1941 example doesn’t. What distinguishes them from Royal Navy patterns is that they do always (well mostly!) have a can opener. There is an exception to this, in that there are some very modern (I assume since compo stopped coming in cans) really cheap looking knives that have just a single sheep’s foot blade.
