We hit the low point of the entire trip. After a smooth and pleasant ferry crossing aboard the mv Loch Seaforth from Stornoway to Ullapool, a combination of bad weather, bad luck, bad planning, and a fault with the charging system in the van leads to having to think on our feet and change plans on the hoof before sleeping in sub-zero temperatures with no heating.
