In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), the mission Back on the Grid takes us deep into Africa as Task Force 141 continues its relentless pursuit of Vladimir Makarov. This time, our objective is to track down and stop the transportation of a mysterious cargo linked to his operations. The mission is filled with intense firefights, tactical sniping, and explosive action as we engage enemy forces across a hostile warzone.

🛡️ Mission Breakdown & Key Events
1️⃣ Journey to the Factory – A Battlefield Ahead
The mission starts with Captain Price, Soap, and myself moving through rough terrain towards a heavily guarded factory area, where intelligence suggests Makarov’s cargo is being stored. The journey is long and dangerous, with enemy patrols everywhere. Along the way, we witness civilians being brutally tortured and executed by enemy forces. With no time to waste, we eliminate the hostiles, bringing justice to the fallen civilians.

2️⃣ Sniper Overwatch – Covering Price & Soap
As we move deeper into enemy territory, we reach a strategic high ground. From here, I take on the role of an overwatch sniper, providing cover for Price and Soap as they navigate through hostile zones below. With my long-range rifle, I take out multiple enemies, ensuring their safe passage. The enemies are relentless, and as the gunfight intensifies, I have to act fast to eliminate priority targets before they can flank my teammates.

3️⃣ Mortar Strike – Clearing Out Enemy Reinforcements
After securing the sniper vantage point, we push forward into an open battlefield, where waves of heavily armed reinforcements swarm our position. With the enemy numbers growing fast, I quickly man a mortar machine, launching devastating strikes to obliterate incoming threats. The explosions tear through enemy lines, giving us the upper hand as we push forward towards the factory complex.

4️⃣ The Church Battle – No Mercy for Makarov’s Forces
As we get closer to the target location, we arrive at a church controlled by Makarov’s men. The area is crawling with heavily armed hostiles, forcing us into an all-out firefight. The narrow space makes combat intense and fast-paced, as we clear room after room, ensuring no one escapes. Grenades, automatic fire, and close-quarters combat dominate the battlefield as we fight our way through.

5️⃣ The Cargo Discovery – A Race Against Time
With the church cleared, we reach a reinforced door leading into the factory’s storage area. As I pry open the door, we finally see it—Makarov’s mysterious cargo, guarded by a helicopter on standby. Before we can secure it, enemy forces launch a surprise attack. Guard dogs and soldiers rush in, forcing us into a chaotic close-quarters battle.

Despite our best efforts, the helicopter lifts off, carrying the cargo away before we can stop it. With no way to chase them, we are left empty-handed. Makarov’s forces have once again managed to escape with their plans intact.
