FOREST SOUNDS: Maria Lando (Susana Baca Cover) - Abstract Citizen

Abstract Citizen brings together four of South Florida's most sought after musicians to create a powerhouse modern-jazz quartet that is so much more than the sum of its parts. During their inspiring hour-long Forest Sounds set, the Miami-based quartet performed their take on Peruvian singer-songwriter Susana Baca's Maria Lando. Vocalist Justine Garcia had the room absolutely captivated from the first note, showcasing her jazz chops while never losing the emotion of Baca's folkloric classic. Lebos and Quinn took turns dancing on guitar and bass respectively, before breaking it down to feature Brahm Masla on drums.
