1987 Chrysler Portofino - A Strange Mix of Chrysler & Lamborghini Gone Wrong (Mid-Engine V8)

Taking a look at the interesting story of the Chrysler Lamborghini Portofino concept car from 1987. This was a mid-engine sedan that was built by Chrysler to symbolize their takeover of Lamborghini. Some argued this concept was a Chrysler, Lamborghini, or Chrysler Lamborghini. It even wears a Chrysler Pentastar badge with the Lambo raging bull inside to add to the confusion and novelty. In more technical terms, this is a 4-door sports sedan, mid-engine, RWD, built on the Lamborghini Jalpa chassis. Chrysler described this as “the ultimate mid-engined touring sedan”.

Unfortunately, Lamborghini hated the design and the concept never made it, but it did influence Chrysler for the next 2 decades with their LH Platform. Still, it leaves many to wonder, 'What If'?
