How to Engrave Christmas Ball Ornaments xTool F1 Ultra, and xTool S1, With and Without the RA2

Описание к видео How to Engrave Christmas Ball Ornaments xTool F1 Ultra, and xTool S1, With and Without the RA2

In this video I will show you how to engrave these popular glass Christmas ball ornaments using the xTool F1 Ultra (same process applies to the F1) and the xTool S1. I will walk you through engraving them without the use of the RA2 rotary module and with the xTool RA2 rotary module on both machines.

It is extremely important to note that these Christmas balls are made of glass. I would not recommend processing balls that are unknown plastic as some could be made of ABS or PVC which are not safe to laser engrave. Please get real glass balls, there are links below to some suggested sources.

In order to engrave the balls without the use of the RA2 rotary module, I have a fixture available for both 2.5" (65mm) and 3" (80mm) balls at the links below:

The fixture comes with the digital template as shown in this video and makes it very easy and straightforward to align and engrave these ornaments using various machines like the F1, F1 Ultra, and S1 from xTool.

In order to adapt the fixture to the F1 Ultra you can use my F1 to F1 Ultra fixture adapter here:

For the xTool S1 you can just place the fixture anywhere and align the crosshairs with the middle of the ball for the best results. Please note that for the xTool S1 using the RA2 or the fixture requires the xTool Riser base for the S1.

The paint that is removed from the glass balls during engraving is quite smelly. You will want to use some kind of filtration or ventilation system. For this my first recommendation is the xTool AP2 if you cannot ventilate the smoke and fumes outside. It is the best filtration system I've tested at this price point and it connects to the newest xTool machines via bluetooth.

If you can get the smoke and fumes out a window, then consider the new IF2 which is a very powerful inline fan from xTool. It also connects to the machines via bluetooth and can be controlled automatically by the machines.

I have an entire video covering the AP2 and how to use it along with various strategies to connecting it with adapters for four inch hoses. You can find that video and my adapters here:
