I've been an Altra Lone Peak hiker for a long time, but when the 7 version came out, it was too much of a departure from the core features that made it great. I've been trying out several models of trail runners and hiking shoes to replace the LPs, and I think the Topo Athletic Pursuit is the winner. It's a very similar shoe with zero-drop and a wide toe box. But the outsole is better, and overall it has a beefier feel, more akin to a hiking shoe, but without the extra weight. The arch feel might not be a fit for everyone, but I've found that after a few hikes with the Topo Athletic Pursuit, the arch didn't bother me.
