On June 14, 2025, Hoboken Police received a call about a possibly intoxicated woman. The caller gave a description of the woman and the car she was driving. Sgt. Kranz located the woman as she was about to start her vehicle to drive away from a store. The 61-year-old woman did not have her license or vehicle registration with her. Officer Rutkowski arrived to interview the woman and perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the end of the tests, the woman was placed under arrest for suspicion of Driving While Under the Influence. Her and her dog were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. The police report indicates she submitted to a breath test and the result was 0.00% BAC. A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) performed an evaluation on the woman and determined that she was under the influence of an undisclosed substance. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
