Beloved school secretary is surprised in the lunch room for Feel Good Friday

EastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.

A few months ago, we received several emails about a woman who works at Thirkill Elementary School in Soda Springs. Here's one:

Shannon Steele is our secretary at Thirkill Elementary School. She’s the first person people see when they enter our school, and they can guarantee they will be greeted with a smile and immediately feel like a friend. She's always going the extra mile to make everyone feel important. She knows every student's name and probably all of the parents' names too.

She is extremely organized and runs an efficient office. She also serves on several committees and makes huge contributions to each one to help our school be more effective and a fun place to be. She keeps our school running smoothly, and she does it with a smile! She’s so positive, and that positivity rubs off onto everyone around her. Every staff member knows they can count on Shannon to assist them with all of their various needs. She also listens attentively as they share frustrations and excitement. She has a way of helping each person feel like her best friend.

All of the students, parents, and staff members love Mrs. Steele!
