From my Facebook Post:
In racing, nothing comes easy. Being fast and finishing up front means everything going right. Wrong setup? Try again. Bad luck? Try again. Loose bolt or wire? Maybe next time. Its difficulty is what makes racing a rewarding sport.

My season has had many of these challenges. Track layout changes, awful redraw luck, motor hesitation, one of my worst-ever flips, and a continuing lack of speed on slick tracks. In the end, though, even the most troubled strings of difficult times can end sweetly.

On August 23, I participated in the Northeast Outlaw Invasion at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks and won one of the $1000 qualifier features for the $12,000-to-win main event on the 24th. It had been a major breakthrough in speed, and it set me up for a starting position near the front of the highest-paying race I've been a part of. Unfortunately, my lack of setup expertise left me with a car which wouldn't handle or put down any kind of speed. I ended up being involved in a wreck and stuck around in the back until the end of the race. Though that weekend could have ended better, I was satisfied knowing I could still win a race.

This weekend, again I proved it to myself and my supporters. In the wingless division, I redrew to start 9th and steadily made my way to second place by the checkered. Winged (I picked a 100/100 pill for the heat race), I started 8th to clench a win. I was awarded "hard charger," a title which goes to the driver who passes the most cars in a race, in both divisions.
