Have you heard the terms 'Diastasis Recti', 'DRAM' or Ab separation during pregnancy and felt concerned about what it was and why it was happening?

If so, I hope this video gives you a little insight as to how it's simply one of the ways your kick ass body is adapting to help you grow your beautiful bub.

DRAM occurs in the vast majority of pregnancies and the degree of separation varies mum to mum, depending on a number of factors, some of which I have listed in this video.

DRAM can become a problem post-partum if the muscles remain significantly separated, so it's always best to ask your GP (at your 6 week check) to assess your DRAM. Even more ideally, book yourself in with your local women's health physio for a more thorough assessment.
