Hey everyone! This cover of You're My Best Friend by Queen has been sitting on my hard drive for... a long time. Since December of 2020, to be exact. Between December 2020 and January 2021 I recorded a total of 8 songs... only 5 of which have actually made it to my channel, including You're My Best Friend now.

I discovered quickly that just because I had stuff recorded still meant I editing would take time, and I have always been and will continue to be extremely slow at everything. In any case, I'm happy that this song can now finally see the light of day, because I think it actually sounds really good on harp!

I initially arranged this song because I was asked to play it for a wedding, and there wasn't really any existing sheet music I could use, and making pop and rock music sound convincing on the harp wasn't something I wanted to leave up to winging it with a lead sheet, so this arrangement was born. The real key to making this one work was a) copying the bass line from the original for that forward drive and b) chords in the right hand to emulate those signature Queen vocal harmonies ✨
If you're familiar with the song, you may also notice that I left out a section or two... I tend to do that with songs I arrange for weddings to make my life a bit easier 😂 But hey, it's my arrangement, and I'll abridge if I want to.
