Gauteng Cogta is non-committal about whether the financially-crippled
Emfuleni Municipality will be able to pay September salaries by the
end of this week.

Department spokesperson Theo Nkonki says both spheres of government
are seized with finding a solution to the attachment of the
municipality's coffers by Eskom.

Earlier today, workers engaged in a protest demanding assurances on
the payment of the said salaries.
