Why do Tech projects fail?
Projects fail in many ways. Most of the time the company 'runs out of money' which is just another way of saying, "We can't solve this anymore with what we have'. But Why do they fail?

Here's my experience with the 3 most common reasons (yes, it was 1.1, 1.2) why Tech projects fail.

1. Unclear need
Basically, you build something that nobody needs. You solve a problem that nobody needs solving.

1.2 Just as bad is solving a problem that people want to solve, but are not willing to pay for. This would be like building another word processor like MS word or Gmail. Already they have a free alternative, why would anyone pay you a dollar?

2. Hiring the poorly

In 2019, the market for talent is very competitive. The internet has made things very easy for job seekers and hirers to know their exact value. Even if you get a short term discount, this quickly goes away as job hunters jump from company to company. Hiring poorly results to technical debt and lost productivity, which are hidden costs that just spring up.

3. Management from 30,000 Feet
MNC's are usually offenders of this. A project suddenly gets too many manages that pull the project in different directions. 'Too many cooks spoil the broth'. There might be inexperienced or simply not focusing enough on a project to be successful. Disfranchised technical people start leaving and the project spirals out of control.
