From Lucerne, we took a day
excursion to Mt Titlis where there is snow all year round.

Buy the ZentralBahn package ticket from the ticket machine for convenience:
(train from Lucerne to Engelberg - 45mins, cable rides up to Mt Titlus
and the Ice flyer). Get on the children's car (Golbi) to
keep your kid entertained with other kids.

There are two cable car rides up Mt Titlis.
The first one stops at Trubsee. Stay in your car
if Titlis is your destination!
And yes, you can bring strollers up.

Trubsee is a cable car stop and a hydroelectric reservoir.
You can hike from/to, rent mountain bikes from here.
There are four campfire spot open from June - Oct
for your sausage roastings.
Rotair Titlis is the world's first 360 degree rotating cable car.
Launched in 2014, you and your kid will enjoy the panoramic
view during the 5 minute traverse. You don't even notice the rotation.

At the top, leave your stroller at the entrance. Ours, along with
others were still there after our long day. By the way, in case you
wondering what the Bollywood (Indian Hollywood) cardboard sign is about,
Mt Titlis is a popular destination for
Indian tourist since there a lot of Indian blockbusters shot here.

Mt Titlis's suspension bridge, the Titlis Cliff Walk, is Europe's highest.
The $1.3M bridge is 330 feet long and 3 feet wide.

The extra fee to ride the Ice Flyer is only worth it if:
1) You want to experience riding a ski gondola over the Alps
2) If you want to get to the Glacier park for tubing, rock climbing &
less crowded snow hiking


Our favorite feature was the Glacier cave - a walkway
through a real glacier. It's dimly lit and cold at -1.5 Celsius (-34.7F)


Don't forget to stop by the Schaukaserei Cheese Shop
at the Engelberg Monastery. While the Monastery
is not open to the public, the cheese shop is. You
can try the fondue tasting or purchase the famous Monastery Bell cheese.
Don't forget to enjoy the cheese making display as well.

Extra tips:
Strollers are hard to navigate at the summit but
useful at nap time.
Bring plenty of water and some snacks.
Leave some room to explore Engelberg.
