We park the car in Mariastein, and walk from Mariastein (switzerland) over to the majestic castle ruin "Landskron", which is located on french territory.
We climb up the main tower. from where we have a beautiful panoramic view of the region. Including, France, Jura Mountains, Switzerland, and Germany with Black Forrest.
After that we walk over another way back to Mariastein.

This hike is an ideal Day-trip if you are visiting Basel. You can reach the feet of the Hill with the Tramline 10 (exit in Flüh-Mariastein) and walk up to Landskron. Or you can take in Flüh the bus to Mariastein.
