Jesus on the cross BECAME …
• Numbers 21: 4-9 – The Fiery Serpents:
• When the people complained The Lord send fiery serpents and MUCH people died. Then Moses asked God what to do ... The GOD said make a fiery serpent and set it upon a pole. Moses made one with brass and set it on a pole. When a person who was bitten by the serpent looked at this brass serpent then he lived.
• John 3:14 - Jesus must be lifted up
• and as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: (KJV)
I ---- Jesus became DEATH for us
• The Son of Man (JESUS) must be lifted up just like that serpent. In other words Jesus must become what that serpent represented. DEATH came through the fiery serpents that was killing the children of Israel.
• Jesus had to become that DEATH (lifted up like that serpent).
• The serpent shows DEATH, Jesus must become death, the serpent shows SIN, Jesus must become sin, the serpent shows transgressors of law, Jesus must become that. The serpent shows curse ... Jesus must become curse. Jesus must become that serpent and be raised on the pole so that whoever looks at that Jesus hung on the pole - they lived.
QUESTION ... How is this possible? This is why the crucifixion is important to understand. Let us think this through....

II ----- Jesus became FULLY HUMAN for us
• Hebrews 2:14, 15, 17
•

• He had to become LIKE US ... fully human so that he can overcome death in this life and DELIVER US FROM SLAVERY!!! .

III ----- Jesus became sin for us
• 2 Corinthians 5:21
• For He (God) hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)
• 1 Peter 2:24
• Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (KJV)
• So what is sin? James 4:17 – So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.
• Jesus had to become sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
• The Bible says
• He did no sin – 1 Peter 2:22
• He knew no sin – 1 Corinthians 5:21
• In him was no sin – 1 John 3:5
• Hebrews 10:14 explains, “For by one sacrifice he (Jesus) has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” Jesus’s gift was once for all, and it lasts for all eternity.
• But he took on that sin so that we who are dead to sin should live unto righteousness. For our healing ... for our righteousness!!! Praise The Lord.
• We are MADE RIGHTEOUS through His sacrifice on the cross – Romans 5:1

IV --- Jesus became CURSE for us
• Galatians 3:10 -14
• 10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law
• Read Deut 28:58-63

• Galatians 3:13
• Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” (NIV)
• Jesus took on our curses and he became a curse for us when he hung on the cross.

So place your hands on the Bible and say JESUS HAS REDEEMED ME FROM THIS CURSE ... Curse of itch, curse of mold, famine, poverty, hunger, generational curses ....

NAILED IT TO THE CROSS!!!!
Victory, Victory, Victory in JESUS NAME!!

V ----- Jesus became POOR for us
• 2 Corinthians 8:9
• For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich

• Money is essential to run a church, ministry. So don't be afraid of it ... ONLY DO NOT LOVE MONEY. Learn how to serve God with your money. Jesus did become poor for us so that we could be rich through him.
• 1 Timothy 6:10
• For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
• The love of money, covetousness, greed, miserly attitudes is the root of all evil.
• Proverbs 10:22
• The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
• Jesus talked about money during his ministry.
• Luke 16:9 “I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.”

VI ----- Jesus became SICK for us
• Isaiah 53:6 in Hebrew original text (passage 4-11) ...

• Psalm 103:1-3
• HE HEALS ALL OUR DISEASES, FORGIVES ALL OUR SINS ... This is because of the sacrifice on the cross.

JESUS BECAME ….
• Jesus became DEATH for us, SO THAT WE CAN OVERCOME DEATH
• Jesus became FULLY HUMAN for us, SO WE CAN OVERCOME THE DOMINATION OF SATAN AND SLAVERY
• Jesus became SIN for us, SO WE CAN BECOME RIGHTEOUS
• Jesus became CURSE for us, TO DELIVER US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW
• Jesus became POOR for us, SO THAT WE CAN BE MADE RICH IN HIM
• Jesus became SICK for us, SO THAT WE CAN BE HEALED FROM ALL DISEASES
