Stuck oil filter

In this video I demonstrate a method of removing an oil filter that is stuck on the engine. This filter was going to crush before it ever came loose from the engine and that would have made removing it much more difficult. There are lots of nightmarish stories about what some people have done to try and get a filter off including jamming a screwdriver through one, or cutting the cannister off and then having to struggle with the base of the filter that is still stuck on the engine. Most of the time, if you encounter a filter that is too tight, simply using a second filter wrench, or more along with a helper can take what could have been a disaster and turn it into just an annoyance.
